TE PAKIHI O TŪWAEREA — The Turnkey System

AHO-W-WAE-BIZ v1.0 · the digital business framework for the first saddle · she does the art — the system does the rest

One more ripple of the thousand. Atua-centred, closed-loop, open-hearted. Māori ancestral whakapapa in the core, locked down as kaitiaki, authentic by construction.

TOPKNOT — WHAT THIS IS

Not a shop. Not a page. A turnkey, out-the-box system that creates, nurtures and grows a digital business around a working artist — where the only job she cannot delegate is the art itself. Everything else — the storefront, the delivery, the money split, the marketing drumbeat, the community, the credentials, the protection — the system carries.

The three-layer truth of it:

PART ONE · THE MACHINE — WHAT THE SYSTEM DOES WITHOUT HER

LayerWhat it doesShe touches it?
**The studios**Make the work — moko, pattern, carving, kapahakaYES — this is the art
**The storefront**ahorangi.io till, listings, delivery, receiptsNever — product files flow straight from studio export
**The drumbeat**Seasonal/lunar release rhythm, whisper-channel posts, competition cyclesNever — calendar-driven
**The whare records**What sold, what moved, who returnedNever — the dials are ours
**The protection**Watermarked previews, master files vaulted, licensed deliveryNever — built in
**The community**Members' own shelves, their sales, their splitsNever — self-serve
**The credentials**Her teaching programme's NCEA/NZQA evidence engineLight — she teaches, the system records

The law of the machine: she does the art; the system does the rest. If any layer needs her weekly, that layer is broken and gets fixed.

PART TWO · THE STOCK — WHAT SELLS

Shelf one — the art (made in the studios):

pattern packs (kōwhaiwhai/tukutuku/tāniko bands, 4K print files) · moko design templates (kauae, mataora, pūhoro, sleeves) · carving spec files (pou designs, panel art, laser/3D briefs) · waiata and compositions · kapahaka choreography charts · teaching packs (lesson cards, the credits map)

Shelf two — the studios themselves (the licence products):

ProductWhat the buyer getsModel
**Studio Single**One studio (e.g. Te Rārangi) licensed to one creatorAnnual licence
**Te Kete Katoa — the full set**All studios, all template pools, all platesAnnual licence, flagship
**Kura Seat**One studio licensed to a school/kura, per-seatInstitutional annual
**Maker Twin**A pre-loaded saddle (their own container, their personals in)Setup + annual

Every licence is a key, not a file: the studios stay on the horse (ahorangi.io infrastructure), the buyer rides their own saddle. Cancel the key, keep your work (exports are theirs forever); lose the studio access.

Shelf three — the hub commission: community members list their own work through her hub; every sale flows her tuku circulation and the house takes its small percentage. Her taste is the brand; the hub is the marketplace.

PART THREE · THE LOCKDOWN — INDIGENOUS IP, CLOSED LOOP, OPEN HEART

This is the biggie, and it is structural, not promised:

PART FOUR · THE RHYTHM — SEASONS, MOONS, COMPETITIONS

The system runs to the maramataka, not the marketing calendar:

PART FIVE · THE ADOBE TOPKNOT — THEIR MODEL, SUSSED AND BETTERED

What Adobe actually is (2026): a subscription fortress. 20+ apps behind one gate (Creative Cloud Pro ~US$70/mo individual, ~US$100/seat teams), single-app tickets (~US$23/mo each, AI gutted to 25 credits to push you upward), generative-AI credits as the new toll (4,000/mo on the big plans), Adobe Stock bundled "unlimited" at the top tiers, IP indemnification up to $3M for enterprise, Behance as the free community net, and a 50%-of-remaining-contract cancellation sting that cost them a $90M FTC settlement. Their strength: everything interoperates, everything is one account. Their weakness: rent-seeking — you never own the tools, the price climbs yearly, the AI is generic, and your culture is content.

Our betterment — Te Rārangi o te Kete (the braided set):

Their moveOur answer
20+ apps, one subscription5 studios, one saddle — every studio speaks the same lines; no app-hopping
Rent forever, own nothingLicence the studio; OWN every export forever — your work is yours outright, no ransom
Generic AI credits by the thousandOne AI host who knows your whakapapa — no credits, no metering, no upsell wall
Stock library of strangersTemplate pools from OUR masters — every plate has a name, a whakapapa, a meaning
Behance — community as free content farmThe hub — community as PAID circulation; makers sell, the house takes a small honest cut
IP indemnification for enterpriseIP *integrity* for everyone: kaitiaki terms, lineage in the file, sacred never sold
Cancellation stingCancel any moon — keep all your work. We keep you by being good, not by locking doors

The honest edge: we will never out-feature Adobe. We out-meaning them. Their tools make content; our studios make taonga. Their community performs for the algorithm; our whānau circulates through tuku. That is a market Adobe cannot enter without ceasing to be Adobe.

PART SIX · THE PLANS — 8 YEARS, THEN 16

Years 1–2 · Te Kākano (the seed): Wae's own shelves fill first — 50+ original works across the studios. Her teaching programme credentialed and running in one kura. First 10 licensed saddles (whānau and close makers — the container network). Studio Singles live. Monthly moon drops habitual.

Years 3–4 · Te Pūtake (the root): The hub opens to the wider creator community — 100 makers circulating. First seasonal competition year completes its cycle. Kura Seats in 10 schools. The licensing terms battle-tested and clean. Wae's role: art + the kaumātua eye on the bench.

Years 5–6 · Te Rākau (the tree): Te Kete Katoa as the flagship licence. Hub circulation is the largest revenue layer — her percentage of a flowing river beats her own output. Regional hubs (each with its own master) — the one-horse-many-saddles pattern at community scale. 1,000 saddles.

Years 7–8 · Te Puāwaitanga (the flowering): The credentialled pathway recognised as a standing route (NZQA-adjacent, wānanga-braided). The system documented as the indigenous digital-business template — itself a licensed product: the container framework, the studios, the terms, the calendar. Other communities ride the same wave on their own whakapapa.

Years 9–16 · Te Hua Nui (the great fruit): Every layer above becomes infrastructure. The hub network is the indigenous creative economy's home ground — tens of thousands of makers, each circle closed, each door open. Wae's place: the first saddle, the master of the bench, the name on the door. The system she did not have to build, working for grandkids she has not met. Atuareretahi at economy scale.

THE STANDING LAWS THAT BIND IT

She does the art; the system does the rest · gifts are gifts, the store is for product, the two shall never meet · Māori data held as kaitiaki, never owned, never sold · the whisper law: no hype, no urgency, bio → home · masters never leave the vault · cancel any moon, keep your work · the moon sets the dates · one horse, many saddles · churr.
