Te Kawa o Tūwaerea · studio four

TE RĀRANGI · the pattern studio

The formal pattern arts: kōwhaiwhai, tukutuku, tāniko, whiriwhiri, raranga. Pull a plate from the whare's template library — koru, koiri, patiki, mangōpare, pitau-a-manaia, puhoro, rautawa, kaperua, ngutukākā, mangotipi — trace it, change it, recolour it, or lay your own over the grid. Then seamless out: tile it, export it print-sharp, and it is a product on your shelf.

draw on the board — seamless left-to-right · koru stamp then drag to place · everything replays crisp at any size
TE WHARE KĀHUA — the plate library · his ten pattern families, yours to trace, adapt, recolour
Te Rere · the seamless workflow — nothing to something on the shelf

one

Pull a plate

Touch any plate in the library — it slides under your board at tracing brightness, perfectly registered to the grid. Or start clean.

two

Trace, change, recolour

Your lines are kept as living geometry — snap to grid for tukutuku truth, freehand for kōwhaiwhai flow. Three inks plus ground, changeable any time, everything re-sits.

three

Tile the repeat

"Tile ×3" shows the seamless repeat — what leaves the left edge enters the right. That is the law of the band.

four

Export print-sharp

The 4K export renders your geometry at product resolution — no jagged edges, ever. Wall print, fabric run, laser etch, tattoo flash — one file feeds them all.

five

Straight to the shop

The export IS the product file: pattern packs, band designs, panel art. List it, sell it, no shipping, no stock. Nothing → something → shelf.

six

To Tuhikura

Want it on a body? The sister studio takes the same inks — bands for arms and thighs live there. Two studios, one hand.
