TUHIKURA · the mannequin moko studio

The human form in the round — not a block, a body. Turn it, tip it overhead or underfoot, zoom to a knuckle. Then isolate: the head bust alone for a face tāmoko, one arm alone for a sleeve, the hips and thighs alone for a pūhoro. Pull a template from the pool as your starting point and finish it your way. When it's right — project it true-scale onto the real skin of the mahi, or print it clean at any size.

Strokes are kept as living lines, not pixels. Every line you lay is remembered as geometry — change the skin colour and the moko re-sits itself, zoom to any depth and it re-draws crisp, flatten a zone for print and it renders at print sharpness. No jagged edges, ever. The save is real: it keeps on this device and waits for you.

Ngā Kāhua · the template pool — starting points, never cages

Touch templates · the pool. Ten kauae chin templates, mataora face templates, pūhoro sweeps, sleeve wraps — and the mixed designs that can land anywhere on the body: koru, mangōpare, pitau-a-manaia, ngutukākā, kaperua, rautawa. Every template takes your ink colour and nib weight, and every one is a beginning: once it lands, it's yours — draw over it, erase from it, turn it into the thing only you would make. For the formal pattern work — kōwhaiwhai, tukutuku, tāniko, whiriwhiri, raranga — that's the sister studio, Te Rārangi, linked from your kawa page.

Te Whitinga · the way out — project, print, product

one

Moko the form

Full body or isolated zone. Spin it, tip it, zoom to the detail. The pen is live on the skin.

two

Flatten the zone

"Flatten zone · print file" unrolls the skin of the active zone into one clean sheet — the whole moko, edge to edge, print-ready at any size.

three

Project true-scale

The sheet opens at real centimetres. Calibrate once with a ruler, set the real width, lay the device on wood, stone, plastic — or hold it beside the client — and trace the light.

four

Export the view

"Export view PNG" captures the form as it stands — the hero shot for the portfolio, the socials, the shop listing.

five

Save, come back

The whole moko — every zone — saves to this device. Close everything. It waits.

six

To the shop

The flattened sheet and the hero shot are the product files — pattern pack, design listing, client spec. Nothing to something, on your shelf.
